After one year break, the legendary Heidenfest will return for 10 dates in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in October 2015.
For the first time ever SKYFORGER is part of this long going event! Check out tour dates and come to hear new and old songs live!

The 6th edition of Heidenfest will be co-headlined by DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER and KORPIKLAANI.

Also in the Tourbus will be the German wolfpack of VARG.

Special guest will be the Latvian Pagan metal band SKYFORGER, it´s SKYFORGER´s first tour in Europe since 2011.

The billing will be completed by the German epic power metal band WINTERSTORM.

Guests on the 6 Extended shows in Stuttgart, Munich, Pratteln, Oberhausen, Leipzig and Vienna will be FINNTROLL and HÄMATOM.

SKYFORGER invitation to biggest baltic metal music festival – “KILKIM ŽAIBU 16” (in lithuanian).

Old German chronicles tell of a legend about a central place of pagan worship in Prussia at Romuve or Rickoyot, which was sacred for all Baltic peoples of the time. In the centre of Romuve, there was a huge oak and besides it (or in its hollow trunk) stood idols of the three main gods: Perkuns, Peckols (or Patollo) and Potrimpus. In this sanctuary, lived the priests and priestesses (vaidelots), as well as the high priest Krive Krivaito himself. In Romuve, they conducted the most important pagan ceremonies and brought sacrifice to their gods. You will find more info in the CD booklet.

In this song, you can hear a little bit of the Prussian language, as we used an old Prussian/Lithuanian folk song (thanks to Jonas Trinkūnas and Kūlgrinda) as the main theme for this track.

Today we publish first song from new album, it is called “Tagad vai nekad”, or in English  “Now or Never”!

The song tells about the Great Prussian uprising in 1260 – 1274, when the Prussian tribes almost succeeded in driving the Order of Teutonic Knights out of Prussia. However, due to the continuous influx of fresh manpower from Europe and many European leaders joining the conflict, the uprising was suppressed and the Prussians had to once again yield the Teutonic Order. More about it you will find in CD booklet.

Some of you already know that for the last few years, SKYFORGER has been busy working on a new album. Today we finally can reveal some details, including cover art, track list and release date. We titled it “Senprūsija” or “Old Prussia” in English, and it will be released on the 6th of April, 2015 !!!

SKYFORGER frontman Peter comments: Our new album “Senprūsija” (Old Prussia) is dedicated to the Prussians, the now extinct third Baltic nation. For us Latvians and Lithuanians, the two remaining Baltic nations, it is very important not to forget this part of our common history and that is why we made this album. (Note: the Germans, who conquered Prussia, also started to call themselves Prussians; however, they had nothing in common with the actual Baltic people of ancient Prussia.)

The idea behind the album’s cover art is that there is nothing left of Old Prussians, except some bones found in archaeological sites and a few other artefacts, while the rest is lost into the darkness of past.
